Phobophilic – Undimensionable Entities

“One may coyly ask: could anything GOOD come out of Fargo? The answer is: yes…good and rotten. But Phobophilic is more than just rotten; they are also decimating, cosmic, chthonic, and unmatched. I guess that is just to say that Phobophilic is very good.” -JDMP on Bandcamp

Un – The Tomb Of All Things [Doom Metal]

Seattle’s finest re-released their sleeper classic “The Tomb Of All Things”, and I almost missed out on this reissue. One of the two color variants is now sold out, which is no surprise. The other will be sold out soon, no doubt, and I’m ordering a copy right now.

World Serpent by Fortid (Fortíð)

Featured Band: Fortíð (aka Fortid) [Melodic Black Metal]

What’s this, black metal with major chords and post-prog passages? Remniscent of Enslaved, and I know that’s a moving-target of a comparison. Fortid keeps their energy between uptempo and mellow, with a generally “bright” spin on things, in the underground metal sense, equal or greater to that of modern Enslaved (which I also love, by the way).
